Ozu is built by Cloud Creator, an independent studio making AI-native tools for filmmakers. This page is a short introduction to who we are and what we’re building toward.

Who we are

Cloud Creator is a small, creator-first studio. We build tools for people who tell visual stories — directors, animators, writers, and independent filmmakers. Our bias is toward practitioners: we make what we’d want to use ourselves. The studio is built around a simple premise. Generative AI has already changed what one person can produce. The bottleneck isn’t the models anymore — it’s the software that wraps them. Raw AI gives you a one-shot. A real creative tool gives you something to work with, then gets out of your way.

What we build

Ozu is our flagship — an AI-driven pipeline that turns scripts into storyboards and animatics. It’s built on three commitments:
  • Respect the craft. Scene, Shot, Beat. Hero Look. Wardrobe. Director Review Board. The vocabulary of filmmaking isn’t decoration; it’s how creative decisions stay precise.
  • Keep the creator in control. Every stage produces human-readable output. Every creative decision is reversible. Every asset is reusable.
  • Ship work you can actually use. PDF storyboards, ZIP frame exports, MP4 animatics — standard file formats, openable in any tool you already use.
Beyond Ozu, we build adjacent tools for creators — shared infrastructure, cross-project assets, and workflows that compound over time. The goal is a creator’s studio, not a collection of standalone apps.

How we work

Cloud Creator is small on purpose. A small team that uses what it builds makes faster decisions and writes less wasted code. We dogfood Ozu for our own projects — if a feature doesn’t survive a real production test, it doesn’t ship. We invest in depth over breadth. Instead of a thousand half-finished integrations, we pick the parts of the pipeline that matter most to creators and make them excellent. The Script Node, the Storyboard generator, the Timeline — these are the places your time compounds. Those are the places we spend ours.

Where we’re going

The tools creators have today are the worst they will ever be. Models will get better. Inference will get cheaper. What one person can make in a weekend will keep getting more ambitious. Our bet is on the pipeline paradigm — structured, reusable, reversible — as the foundation that holds up as the underlying models evolve. Whatever new generation capabilities land next year, they slot into the same framework: a node on the canvas, a stage in the pipeline, a tool for you to pick up or put down. We’ll keep shipping until creators stop needing the tool. Given the trajectory, we expect to be busy for a while.

FAQ

Is Cloud Creator a venture-backed startup? We’re an independent studio — small team, creator-first, shipping product. We’d rather talk about what we’ve built than how it’s financed. Is Ozu the only thing you make? Ozu is the flagship. Other tools under the Cloud Creator umbrella are in various stages of development; when they’re ready to use, they’ll be linked from the studio page. Do you take feature requests? Yes, gladly. Send them through in-app support. We can’t promise everything gets built, but we read everything — and a lot of what’s shipped started as a user’s note. Do you work with outside studios or agencies? Occasionally. If you’re building something that needs Ozu-style tooling and it doesn’t fit the product as it is, reach out and we’ll see if there’s a fit. Can I use Ozu for commercial work? Yes — the tool is built for working creators. Terms of use and output licensing are covered in the legal section of the main site.
